Gail Perry-Mason is Keynote during Annual Black History Month Celebrations
Farmington Hills, Mich. – Chrysler Financial hosted Gail Perry-Mason as the keynote speaker during the annual Black History Month celebrations on Thursday, Feb. 21 at the Chrysler Financial Headquarters. In conjunction with the Chrysler Financial African-American Network (CFAAN), one of three employee resource groups, the Company sponsored a month-long series of events to celebrate black history, including an employee seminar on personal financial information and historical displays.
Perry-Mason, who is the First Vice President of Investments -- Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. and author of Girl, Make Your Money Grow: A Sister's Guide to Protecting Your Future and Enriching Your Life (Random House, 2003), spoke to Chrysler Financial employees on many key issues relating to African-American history, personal success strategies and money management. Known for advancing economic empowerment in the Detroit community, she founded and directs a Youth Investment club through NAIC along with a money camp for teens called Money Matters. The money camp has taught more than 1,000 young people in the Detroit Metro area financial life skills.

Perry-Mason also serves on the Board of Directors for Spaulding for Children, Starr Commonwealth and DSA-Detroit Public Schools, Board of Advisors for women. She has received numerous community service awards including the Professional Woman of the Year by the National Council of Negro Women (2005); New Detroit Bridging the Gap awards for her investment in youth (2004); and the Tavis Smiley Youth Investment ward (2004).
Chrysler Financial's month-long celebration included well attended events focused on fitness, quizzes on black culture and history, as well as seminars on personal financial investment.
