Chrysler Insurance Supports Neighborhood Centers, Inc. at Lafayette Play Lot in Southwest Detroit
WHAT: The Neighborhood Centers, Inc. and 30 Chrysler Insurance employee volunteers will join together to develop a healthy urban environment in the Springwells Village Neighborhood of Southwest Detroit. Chrysler Insurance is collaborating with Neighborhood Centers Inc. to create physical spaces that support youth development activities.
Volunteers will focus on planting trees and other landscape plantings.

Directions:
Take I-75 south to Springwells Exit
Go across Springwells Ave. and stay on the service drive until it veers slightly and turns into Fort Street.
Then turn right onto Lawndale (the first traffic light after the Springwells exit). Lawndale Street can be identified by the large "Welcome to Springwells Village" mural on the viaduct.
Turn right on Chamberlain Street
Three city-owned vacant lots will be on the right at approximately 8125 Chamberlain. This is an acceptable place for parking. Walk through these lots to the park where W. Lafayette Blvd. dead-ends at a rail viaduct. The park is at the dead end of W. Lafayette.
