Detroit-Area Children Get a New Child-Designed Playground at Josefiak Playlot in One Day Courtesy of the Chrysler Foundation, Chrysler Financial, Motor City Dodge Dealers, Chrysler Jeep® Superstores, KaBOOM! and the Detroit Community Initiative
What: The hundreds of children who frequent the Josefiak Playlot in Detroit every day are getting a new place to play. In less than eight hours on build day, more than 200 volunteers from The Chrysler Foundation; Chrysler Financial; the Motor City Dodge Dealers; the Chrysler Jeep® Superstores; the Detroit Community Initiative; organizers from KaBOOM! and residents of the Northeast Village will assemble a new playground in the park. The new playground is a continuation of the revitalization of the area surrounding the park and neighboring communities. The playground's design is based on drawings provided by children who attended a Design Day event in September 2008.

The playspace is also one of more than 215 builds KaBOOM! will lead across the country in 2008, in an effort to provide an enjoyable place to play within walking distance of every child in America.
