Chrysler Financial Employee Volunteers Support Bienvenidos Food Bank in Denver
WHAT: The Chrysler Financial Denver Business Center employees will spend Tuesday, December 11 packing food into a newly donated 2007 Dodge Sprinter Cargo Van in Greenwood Village, Colo. The Dodge Sprinter donation to Bienvenidos Food Bank is one of many ways local employees have supported the organization and their mission to provide emergency food to Northwest Denver.

DETAILS: Chrysler Financial employees have donated an industrial refrigerator and freezer and a color printer to the food bank. They have also distributed new backpacks and school supplies to every child in the food bank's care. In addition, employees also held multiple food drives and made a special donation of more than 900 cans of green beans and corn for the Thanksgiving holiday season in 2007.

Organized as the Northwest Family Assistance Center in 1987, the food bank moved into its current location in 1999, and upon the passing of its founder Ellen Torres in 2001, the food bank program became the Ellen L. Torres Bienvenidos Food Bank. Bienvenidos Food Bank serves thousands of individuals and families every year and, unfortunately, continues to reach new highs as more than 200 families came for help on a recent Thursday distribution in November 2007.
Bienvenidos Food Bank serves Denver residents within the boundaries of I-25 West to Sheridan; Colfax North to 52 Ave. Most needed donations include fresh fruits and vegetables, canned goods and dairy products.
